This is thoughtful coverage on a delicious food movement which is good for our environment and our economy. Anthony effectively expresses the value of supporting local, sustainable growers in word and deed. If you are looking for the folks at Soiled Reputation, they are the remarkable Antony Johns and Tina Vandenheuvel.
To experience what Anthony and the Drake crew can create with yogurt, come to the fourth annual Picnic at the Brick Works, where they will be paired with Saugeen Dairy from Grey/Bruce.

I enjoyed the column and agree that in order to compete in today's market place, people like us (food producers) have to connect with the urban restaurant owners and patrons alike.... We feel we have very good locally raised food products, right from our farm here in Millgrove and look forward to getting to know more of the Toronto market. Any advice or comments would be most appreciated.
- Best Regards,
Ron & Adele Service - Black Walnut Lane.

Thank you! And yes, organic Ontario wines! Actually most of our the province's local wines are thisclose to being considered organic. Because wine-making operations here are relatively small (in comparison to say Yellow Tail in Australia), vintners are able to focus on more natural and small-scale ways to preserve the grapes. It is actually a top priority of all VQA winemakers in Ontario. Technically, FrogPond Farm in Niagara-on-the-Lake is the only local organic certified winery (they make yummy wines over there! FrogPond Farm makes a delicious Cabernet Franc.

See here! http://www.frogpondfarm.ca/

This article about local organic wine is a little old, but still very relevant. It's by my friend Tony Aspler, Canada's top wine commentator.
